MAIDEN CASTLE FOOTBRIDGE

Situated on the outskirts of Durham along a riverside footpath it has a design somewhat similar to the Penny Ferry Bridge. There may have been a Roman bridge at this spot. On a quiet stretch of the river with tree-lined banks it is leads to Maiden Castle Wood and the south eastern part of Durham.
