BLACKDENE BRIDGE

This very attractive old stone bridge links the pleasant village of West Blackdene to Ireshopeburn. The hills rise up behind to the north and the river cascades over a series of little waterfalls downstream of the bridge. A line of old cottages lie parallel to the river here and the whole scene is one of peace and beauty.

The bridge suffered considerable damage in 1983 due to flooding.
