Bridges On The Wansbeck

DEAN HOUSE FOOTBRIDGE

A small footbridge, perhaps of fairly recent origin, lying off the minor road between Kirkwhelpington and the B6342 Cambo road. Built to provide a crossing point when river levels make the ford unsafe to use. The river here passes through farmland and is not wide and has many twists and turns. Dean House farm stands close by to the south west with Walkmill on the north side. A little upstream is the ford.
