Bridges On The Wansbeck

HIGHFORD BRIDGE

Another old arch bridge, dating from the 18th century and situated on the B6343 road between Morpeth and Mitford. An attractive stone bridge designed by Dobson it carries the B6343 road, re-crossing the Wansbeck.

The view from the bridge is towards the weir and the pipe bridge upstream. There are woods all around and Mitford can be reached along a footpath leading from the south east end of the bridge.
