Bridges On The Wansbeck

KIRKWHELPINGTON FOOTBRIDGE

A private footbridge in a garden just upstream from the old stone bridge, this seems to be a fairly recent timber footbridge using the stone abutments of an earlier bridge. Wooden planks are laid horizontally across timber poles set between the abutments, and it extends on each side over the land. It is set among trees where the river is narrow and rocky.
