Bridges On The Tweed

GALAFOOT BRIDGE, GALASHIELS

Carries the A6091 road across the Tweed at Galashiels on the Melrose by-pass, upstream from the mouth of the Gala Water. It soars high above the river on 2 piers and the banks are wooded on both sides. To the north it crosses Boleside Road. The Borders Abbeys Way footpath passes underneath on the south bank.
