Bridges On The Aln

ABBERWICK FORD FOOTBRIDGE

A footbridge on a remote road allows pedestrians to cross avoiding the ford. The bridge and ford links Bolton to the north with Abberwick and other settlements to the west of Alnwick. It rests on two piers set on the bank and the ford is just yards away upstream.

There may also have been a small bridge near the farm at the end of the road leading to Bolton Mill, but this may have been washed away.
