Bridges On The Wansbeck

LOWFORD BRIDGE

An attractive old stone bridge designed by Dobson, and carrying the B6343 road over the Wansbeck. The road is angled sharply across the river and there is no footway. The river is fairly wide and has wooded banks, the trees overhanging the river.

There is a pleasant footpath leading off a private road near the south side of the bridge leading along a footpath past Highford bridge to Mitford a mile upstream.
